• WHAT IS THE GRANDE ARMADILO?

  The main function of the STABILO GRANDE is stabilisation. It is used to ensure correct body posture. The mattress is suitable for  patients who must be positioned prone or supine for extended periods and allows easy transitions between supine and upright postures.

  The GRANDE ARMADILLO is a new pressure-relief, comfortable body positioning mattress. GRANDE ARMADILLO is designed to:

  • Reduce pressure provide relief for sensitive areas – enabling the user to be securely wrapped in the larger mattress surface ensuring equal distribution of body weight over a larger surface area, reducing pressure per cubic centimetre
  • Improve blood circulation – the alternating inflation and deflation of mattress chambers ensure perfect body support, forcing blood to be pumped to other areas of the body which are not supported at that moment. This optimises metabolism by increasing blood flow and ensuring an adequate blood supply to tissues, successfully preventing pressure sores
  • Provide comfort – securing optimal body posture. Excellent mechano-therapy effects due to unique body massage reducing painful muscle tone, joint stiffness and pain and brings relief to large capillary areas
  • Facilitate body thermoregulation – an elevated body temperature leads to increased perspiration which may cause bed sores. The GRANDE ARMADILLO mattress re-oxygenates the skin, facilitating an improved microclimate for the patient. Skin temperature is maintained at low levels, controlling perspiration and maceration. The pump system permits a high volume of room-temperature air exchange through the mattress chambers. This air absorbs heat from the patient's body and is exchanged for cooler air, enabling continuous cooling of the skin surface, greatly facilitating therapy
  • Easy-care mattress – does not require frequent changes to body position but successfully eliminates the risk of sensitive skin and pressure sores

  The pump alternatingly inflates and deflates the mattress providing perfect, varying support to the entire body, successfully preventing bed and pressure sores. Maximum comfort at every setting (soft and hard). Ensures continuously massage, maximising therapeutic effects.

  Mattress surface temperature remains at room temperature (allowing for mattress surface temperature to remain at approx. 23°C instead of 36.6°C (body temperature).
